Pale yellow in colour with a restrained nose of stone fruit and white peach, struck match and notes of creamy oak. The mouthfeel here is full and rich whilst the fresh stone fruit character and integrated oak delivers lovely flavours and a creaminess to the finish. This is a seamless and easy to like Chardonnay with ripe flavours, freshness and a lasting finish.
This was more challenging year with some heat early in the summer and patchy rain events in some parts. The coolness of the maritime influence of the region enabled the fruit to reach full ripeness, although sooner than the year prior, still with bright fruit and crisp acidities. Through great management the resultant fruit is bright and flavourful shows an evenness. A wine to enjoy in its youth, with or without food.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with a deliciously creamy risotto or stuffed portobello mushrooms.
