Originally used to transport moulded bricks to a location to dry, the Zieglers repurposed their “Hack Barrow” to transport their harvested fruit to the winery. This potent combination of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro is earthy with black cherry flavours and a hint of pepper spice lift and soft tannins.
Each variety was harvested at separate times when fully ripened from a selection of Barossa vineyards. The fruit was fermented separately with gentle handling – the Grenache received no oak treatment, whilst the Shiraz and Mataro were both aged for a short period in oak barrels. Once each batch reached full varietal expression, the wine was artfully blended together to provide this GSM blend.
